“take a break” and “outcast” were made around the same time, maybe between two days. I was just realising that I could say things, like I could say

what was directly happening to me. I had just gotten off the phone with my mum because I wasn’t really seeing my mum a lot since I started working

on music. I was just able to put the feeling directly into the music. I just had to figure out that I was talking to myself. It feels harder when it

feels like I’m talking to people. When it’s just a self-dialogue, it gets easier without knowing that I’m making a song for people or that they’re

going to listen to it.
